Le Grand Massif, snow guaranteed in this winter sports area
This is one of the largest ski resorts in France, situated in Haute-Savoie. The region covers the ski resorts Carroz, Morillon, Samoëns, Sixt-Fer à Cheval and the modern Flaine Ski Resort in the centre. This ski resort with the Mont Blanc in the background guarantees lots of snow and sunshine.

Le Grand Massif winter sports resort has 260 km of ski runs mostly around the Flaine region. For beginners and advanced skiers, this area has a lot to offer with sufficient ski runs for various levels. Snowboarders can enjoy themselves in the snowboard park, which is known as one of Europes largest parks.

Flaine is the largest village in the vast Le Grand Massif ski area. It is a beautiful village with several chalets built in traditional style. As well as perfect skiing possibilities, Flaine also offers various pleasant terraces and après-ski bars and a few shops, including sports shops, and some nice restaurants.

Samoëns is the only ski resort in France that is registered on the list of historic monuments. It is said that this village is the most authentic and most beautiful winter sports resort in France. There are no ski lifts in the village; these start 2.5 km outside the location. There is a limited number of ski runs; 50 km, mainly blue and red. Snowboarders and cross-country skiers are better off in the Flaine resort.

This resort is known not only for the many skiing possibilities but also for the numerous other sports on offer. Various balloon trips are organized in Les Carroz, which make for beautiful spectacles of colourful hot air balloons. Climbing and riding on snow scooters are popular too and in Samoëns, you can take a great horse ride through the beautiful winter landscape.
