This winter sports area guarantees 300 kilometres prepared pistes, 200 ski lifts and a breathtaking view on the mountains la Grande Motte, le Mont Blanc and la Grande Massière. Various competitions were held here during the Olympic Winter Games of 1992.

Val dIsère was already a popular winter sports destination in the Thirties and with the renovation of the centre the village once again looks authentic. The area on the Bellevarde (2800 m) is also the connection to the ski area of Tignes. The winter sports area of Tignes consists of four villages: Les Brévières, Les Boisses, Le Lac and Val Claret. This area is suitable for more experienced skiers.

Besides the activities on the slopes, there is more than enough to do during the day and in the evenings. There is ice diving for example: diving under the ice with a guide; and Ski-Joering: a trip on a snowboard or ski, drawn by a horse. There is an extensive choice of restaurants for delicious meals. There are also the many cafes, clubs and bars where you can enjoy the typical conviviality of winter sports. You can relax in the sauna or enjoy a well-earned massage.
