Winter sports on the Goldeck, the ‘sports mountain’ of Carinthia

The sunny ski resort of Goldeck is an insider’s tip. Having benefitted from enormous recent investment in the lift system, but remaining much quieter than many better known resorts. Here you will find 30 kilometres of well-groomed slopes for all levels of skiers: 5 red, 3 blue and 1 black. At a length of 8.5 km, the black slope is the longest black-category decent in the Alps (height difference: 1600 metres). A freeride area of 50 hectares guarantees a fantastic ‘tiefschnee’ experience. From the ‘sports city’ of Spittau an der Drau by the Millstättersee, you take the Goldeck cable car to the ski resort. Or drive up to the middle station directly. Additionally with a TOPSKI liftpass, you can ski the top resorts of Katschberg, BKK, Molltaler Glacier, Mallnitz, Turracher Hohe - 300 km. of extra pistes all within 40 km of lake Milstatt. Fantastic for better skiers or those who just like a little variety. Discover all the possibilities offered by this skiing area while staying in a holiday home or ski chalet in the area surrounding the Goldeck am Millstätter See ski resort.

Action & relaxation while staying at a ski chalet in Goldeck am Millstätter See

In addition to skiing and snowboarding, other popular activities in the area include skating and cross-country skiing. Spittal an der Drau has a skating rink right next to the valley station and Seeboden and Millstatt have toboggan runs. For relaxation, visit the Drautal Perle wellness centre in Spittau an der Drau, which has both a swimming pool and wellness facilities. And you may be tempted to spend an afternoon off the slopes drinking coffee directly on the frozen lakeside at Millstatt or Seeboden. You could also learn to climb at the new indoor climbing centre in Muhldorf. Experience a fantastic winter sports holiday while staying in a holiday accommodation in one of the towns (like Seeboden and Millstatt) surrounding the Goldeck mountain.
