Winter sports in the Bregenzerwald
Between the Kleine and Gro?e Walsertal lies the Austrian Bregenzerwald, at the valley of the Rhine, near the Boden lake. The Bregenzerwald is a very wide and well maintained ski area, with 260 km ski pistes located in 22 different ski resorts, where 93 ski lifts take you up high in the mountains. Comfort and safety come first, and every year a lot of time and money is invested in the maintenance of the pistes. You will not find an exciting nightlife in the tranquil ski villages, but plenty of opportunities to enjoy the region and nature combined with great descents. Snowboarding and langlauf also belong to the many possibilities of the Bregenzerwald. There are all in all more than 300 km langlaufloipes at your disposal. You can fully enjoy the beautiful environment along the routes. In Sulzberg and Hittisau the route goes over to the Bavarian Allgäu. The largest langlauf areas are Hittisau, Balderschwang, Sulzberg and Au-Schoppernau. And after an active day, you can return to a warm, authentic holiday home and you can relax with a delicious meal and heart warming drinks.
