Ida cottage is a beautiful barn conversion. Everything is done with care and good taste. All three bedrooms have their own ensuite. The beds are great and were made up when we arrived, which is very inviting. The house has everything you need and is very comfortable. The surroundings of Ida cottage are beautiful, with a meadow to sit and play and a small river. And the train tunnel in front of the house gives it a bit of a gothic atmosphere, which we loved. The hosts are very friendly, everything was clean and there was a welcoming bottle of wine in the fridge. The cottage lies in a beautiful part or England, just inside of Dartmoor, with dramatic Moors and wild horses, which our daughter loved. Tavistock is only a couple of miles away with a historic indoor market and all the shops you need. There are good pubs nearby. We also went into Cornwall a couple of times and walked part of the coastal path which was very beautiful. We had a great time and definitely recommend strike here.

The cottage was lovely and the location was superb!! The dow point was that we didn’t receive any instructions for our arrival, when we were trying to contact the hosts the contact number given to us was for a number in the Netherlands!!! After 8 hours driving to get there and start our holidays that really let us down….

A lovely shepherds hut in beautiful countryside with amazing views. A very welcoming host who recommended some great local pubs. The location is ideal if you want to explore Exmoor and all it has to offer.
