The location is unbeatable: an ancient castle with a few houses around it. Lord of the castle Luca (20th generation!) personally welcomed us with warmth and enthusiasm, in excellent English. Our apartment had a cozy living room, a tiny kitchenette, a new bathroom and two spacious bedrooms. Of course it's a medieval building, so everything is a bit crooked, but that's part of the charm. And it stays nice and cool inside because of the thick walls. The (shared) courtyard garden has a beautiful view; there is lighting for the evening and there are tables and chairs with cushions. Luca is happy to give a personal tour with wine tasting. We had a wonderful stay.

Tophuis! Wij hebben het 2 weken uitstekend naar onze zin gehad. We huurden zowel de bovenverdieping als de benedenverdieping (die is iets koeler!). De host en zijn vrouw zijn heel aardig en attent. Ze geven je informatie over de bezienswaardigheden in de buurt, de markten en supermarkten. Er stond fruit en gekoeld water klaar. Het huis is van alle gemakken voorzien. De keuken is prima uitgerust met ruime koelkast en vriezer, en een vaatwasser. De bedden zijn groot en sliepen heerlijk. Het is prettig dat alle ramen zijn voorzien van vliegenhorren en luiken. De temperatuur bleef overdag aangenaam ondanks de 39 graden buiten. s avonds kunnen alle ramen open en koelt het huis lekker af zonder dat er vliegen of muggen binnenkomen. In de tuin is veel schaduw en kun je in de hangmat of op een ligbed liggen of eten en spelletjes doen aan de tafel. Bij mooi weer is het uitzicht op de heuvels en de bergen prachtig. Bij zonsondergang kleurt de lucht van roze tot paars. Kortom: aanrader!

End of October a week spent in la Castagnola, a four-person apartment in an old house (Borgo) right next to the castle. No luxury but beautiful history and yet all the conveniences. Good bathroom, spacious bedrooms and living room with separate kitchen. Well level, both inside and outside, is not suitable for people who are hard at work. The tour of wine tasting in the castle is highly recommended! The markies are very-very welcoming and helpful, if anything is just ask! Unfortunately, the pizzeria in the village has recently closed but there are plenty of good restaurants in the immediate area. Well a bakery, supermarket, drugstore and cafe within walking distance. Beautiful garden with table tennis and barbecue. Highly recommended unless you go luxury for five stars.

Nice room with spacious bathroom and kitchen in a beautiful castle with friendly owners. In the garden around it it is nice to drink a glass of wine at the end of the day and in the village you can eat delicious. The bed was on a loft. The bed itself was fine, the temperature above a bit on the high side despite the air conditioning, which also made a lot of noise.
