Holiday Mansion in Entremont

We stayed for a week in the "Salon du jardin" in this replica (built in 1904) of an old Turin castle. As minuses we mainly experienced the light. In the living rooms, two luminaires hang from the high ceiling. Half of the lamps were broken, so it was very dark in the evening. It is therefore not an easy job to replace a lamp here: so high! Tip: hang two stately old-fashioned long chandeliers here and you will kill a few birds with one hit: the lighting fits in with the whole, the lower lighting gives more light and replacing lamps is easier.Outside there was too much light: the outside lighting of the castle was on until after one o'clock at night. However, the room with the sofa bed could not be completely darkened (only shutters for the lower windows), which was annoying. But we like to end with the positive notes: we really enjoyed the castle! What a nice feeling to drive up the driveway here for the first time (but also afterwards) and see the castle looming through the trees of the beautiful park. How nice it was to take in the grandeur of that salon, hear the parquet creak under your feet and operate the old windows and doors. How nice it was to enjoy the courtyard, in the garden and the water features around. Do we recommend this castle as a holiday accommodation? Absolute!

Beautiful castle, beautifully situated overlooking the Grand Colombier. Our residence is in old style with high ceilings, fireplaces, wooden floors, balcony with beautiful view. Kitchen and shower are small but fine for vacation. Lovely swimming pool. Sun exposure is perfect. Surroundings are very nice as against the Alps!
