The town is also an ideal starting point for hiking the new 155km Kellerwaldsteig trail. Popular destinations include the Kellerwald-Edersee National Park (2km), the spa town of Bad Wildungen (10km), the half-timbered town of Fritzlar (20km), the Edersee lake with its water park, the Wildpark summer toboggan run (20km), Korbach (40km), Marburg (50km), and Kassel (60km).
